Trauma Support Group for Women
Trauma Support Group for Women
Led by Claire Mixson, MA, LPCA
A space for women who have experienced childhood trauma, sexual trauma, or emotional and physical neglect, and are looking for connection, support, and a place to feel understood.
This group is for women who may be navigating the lasting impact of these experiences, including anxiety, PTSD symptoms, grief, or challenges in relationships and self-trust. You don’t need to have everything clearly defined or labeled. If parts of your past still feel present in your day-to-day life, this space is for you.
While this group is led by a licensed therapist, it is not therapy and is not a replacement for individual therapy. Instead, it offers a supportive environment to process, reflect, and connect with others who share similar experiences.
This group may be a good fit if you:
Are currently in therapy and want additional support between sessions
Are not in therapy but are looking for a space to connect and feel less alone
Have a history of childhood trauma, sexual trauma, or emotional/physical neglect
Experience symptoms of PTSD, anxiety, or ongoing grief
Want to better understand yourself in a supportive, non-judgmental environment
In this group, you’ll have space to:
Share at your own pace, without pressure
Feel seen and understood by other women with similar lived experiences
Learn simple tools for grounding and emotional regulation
Build connection, support, and a greater sense of stability

Trauma Support Group for Women
Support Group for Millennial Women Healing from Childhood Emotional Neglect & Family Trauma
This is a welcoming, judgment-free space for millennial women who grew up with emotional neglect, family dysfunction, or painful childhood experiences and want to feel less alone in the healing process.
Many women who join this group are high-functioning, thoughtful, and independent. On the outside, their lives may look stable or even successful — but internally they may struggle with anxiety, self-doubt, people-pleasing, or a quiet sense of disconnection from themselves.
This group exists to create a space where you can talk openly about those experiences with others who truly understand.
The group is gently guided by a therapist, but it is not therapy. There’s no pressure to share anything personal, no homework, and no expectations about how you “should” participate. Some women talk, some listen, and everyone goes at their own pace.
The focus is on connection, understanding, and reducing the shame that often surrounds early life experiences.
Each week, you’ll have the chance to:
• Connect with other women who had similar childhood experiences
• Feel seen and validated instead of feeling like you’re “too sensitive”
• Learn simple ways to understand and support your nervous system
• Talk about patterns like people-pleasing, perfectionism, and self-criticism
• Build a community with women who are also learning how to feel more grounded and authentic in their lives
This group is meant to be a soft landing place — somewhere you can slow down, breathe, reflect, and connect with others who understand the complicated experience of healing from childhood emotional neglect or trauma.
You are not broken, and you are not alone.
This is support, not therapy… and sometimes that’s exactly what you need.
