Couples/Individuals Therapist Position Open in Avondale/West Ashley


In search of an LMFT(A) to work with couples.

This position has flexible hours, including some day time and evening hours. This practice prides itself on providing exceptional care coming from a person-centered, holistic, and integrated approach. Located on James Island, we see clients from all surrounding cities primarily in-person/in-office. This small practice is 100% self-pay and services clients in various stages, often wanting to work on the following: anxiety, depression, stress and burnout, developmental and complex trauma/PTSD, young adulthood establishment, and family dynamics and boundaries. Couples often want to work on recovering from infidelity, betrayal trauma, & conflict patterns.

Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities

● Provide ongoing weekly therapy to adult individuals and couples

● Correctly diagnose and treat mental health conditions when appropriate

● Assess client needs and provide the proper ongoing treatments or outside referrals

● Record and maintain adequate notes about client contact in a timely manner

● Follow all safety protocols and make mandated reports when appropriate

● Maintain scheduling needs of clients

● Maintain strict professional boundaries with clients at all times

● Maintain all appropriate professional licenses and supervision requirements

● Engage in self-led continuing education to provide the best care possible

● Write an average of 1-2 blog posts per month to be posted online

Requirements

● Minimum of Master’s degree in counseling or marriage and family therapy

● Hold an active associates license to practice ethically and legally in South Carolina

● Training in Emotion Focused Therapy (preferred)

● Experience working with adults in a private practice setting

● Trained in attachment theory, systems modalities, and person-centered therapy

● Possesses a clear framework for working with trauma and PTSD

● Excellent interpersonal communication skills with the ability to establish rapport

● Have a positive, professional, and compassionate attitude

● Keen attention to detail and the ability to effectively manage time and priorities

● Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Hours and Benefits

● $55 per session, with the possibility to increase over time

● Weekly consultation and career development

● Bi-weekly clinical supervision

● Target caseload: 15/week (part-time), or 30/week (full-time)

● Minimal administrative time under self-pay model
